Iqra Aziz and Imran Ashraf starrer ongoing drama serial Ranjha Ranjha Kardi is one of the strongest plays presently on-air.
Imran as the mentally challenged Bhola has done a remarkable job despite the challenging role while Iqra as Noori has proven her mettle once again. Rest of the cast including Asma Abbas, Syed Jibran, Zaib Rehman, Kashif Mehmood and others have also delivered brilliant performances.
Directed by one of the leading directors Kashif Nisar, the man behind Dar Si Jati Hai Sila, the play has the right balance of emotions, drama and romance in addition to some really important lessons.
It has subtle messages for viewers imparted through powerful dialogue and one-liners.
The major highlight of the play is Imran’s performance.
However, the way Ranjha Ranjha Kardi portrays Noori is commendable; she is the epitome of a modern-day woman who is strong and smart and has her weaknesses at the same time.
Despite that she comes from the lower strata of society and has had some really bad experiences in life, she accepts what fate chooses for her with dignity and strength – something that we rarely get to see on the small screen.
